Three of Stevie Ray’s most seasoned comedic performers—Brett Williams, Ellie Walton, and Joe Lovitt, joined by Music Director, Matt Dorland— bring howls of laughter with our unique brand of improv comedy, all based on ideas called out from the audience. Stevie Ray’s has been making audiences laugh for nearly 32 years, and they have become a Twin Cities favorite for creating comedy that is side-splittingly funny, without profanity or offensive material.
Stevie performed his first show at the age of nine and has been making people laugh ever since, touring the country as an improvisational and stand-up comedian. He has opened for such stars as Paula Poundstone, Marsha Warfield of Night Court, Rich Hall of Saturday Night Live, and “Weird Al” Yankovic. A former bodyguard, one client was Pee Wee Herman (yes, really).
Joseph Harstad, Associate Director
Joe has comedy and improv in his blood. He grew up under the tutelage of Artistic Director, Pamela Mayne, and started training at the ripe old age of fifteen. Since then, he has directed performances at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, and attained the role of Master Instructor and Director of Stevie Ray’s School of Improv. As Associate Director, he has also directed special productions at Stevie Ray’s, including Mistletoe Mischief, and Stevie & the Gang.
Matt Dorland, Music Director
Matt started his musical journey at the ripe old age of six when he began plunking out tunes on an old piano in his parent’s basement. He performs regularly with his jazz trio at coffeehouses, bars and breweries across the Twin Cities, as well as for weddings, parties and corporate events (in addition to teaching 30+ students out of his studio.)
