In May 2023, the world lost one of the most electrifying performers in history, Tina Turner. For this show, Ginger Commodore brings together some of the most dynamic voices in the Twin Cities to pay tribute to “The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Along with Ashley Commodore, Lyndora Turner and Dennis Spears (covering Ike’s bass lines), this show covers Tina’s career. Songs will include “Proud Mary,” “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “Private Dancer” and more!
A bundle of energy donning high heels, a miniskirt and a lion-like mane of hair – that’s how fans knew rock queen Tina Turner. She also had that deep, smoky voice with which she wrote music history – and which secured her a spot as one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Whether you remember her as a rocker, an R&B singer or an actor, you know that she was “Simply The Best.”
