Ginger Commodore steps out from her jazz group, Moore By Four, and returns to CDT to bring to the stage songs that stand the test of time. A night filled with jazz, blues and R&B favorites!

Hear Van Morrison’s “Moondance,” Denice Williams’ “Black Butterfly” and the standard, “Blues in The Night.” You’ll also recognize songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson, Tina Turner, Jennifer Holiday, John Legend and more!

Joining Ginger is horn player Ronny Loew (Bobby Lyle Trio), and singers Geoff Jones (Sounds of Blackness) and Jackson Hurst (The Hurst Family Experience). The band also includes favorites Brian Ziemniak (Dr. Mambo’s Combo) playing keys, Jay Young (Moore by Four, Jay Young and the Lyric Factory) on bass, Brandon Commodore (Stokley, #MPLS) on drums, Deevo (Bluprint, Sounds of Blackness) on guitar and Daryl Boudreaux (Sounds of Blackness) on percussion.

Ginger Commodore is a Midwest music scene veteran – she began her performing as a long-time member of the Grammy Award-winning Sounds of Blackness, touring across the United States.  She was last on Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ Main Stage starring as “Motormouth Maybelle” in 2012’s Hairspray and in the concert Night of Wonder – The Music of Stevie Wonder.  She has also been seen at the Dakota, Penumbra Theatre, Minnesota Opera Company, Minnesota Pops Orchestra, Mixed Blood Theatre, Children’s Theatre Company, Hey City Theater, Park Square Theater and with the jazz group Moore By Four.
