The songs of Huey Lewis & the News are, at times, not given their due respect because of how many there were on the radio and on MTV. But the truth is, the catalog of this band is incredibly brilliant as they merged R&B and Pop in a completely distinctive way. Heart & Soul – The Songs of Huey Lewis & the News is a celebration of this hit-machine of a band, touching on the huge singles such as “I Want a New Drug,” “Heart of Rock and Roll,” “Stuck on You” and “Hip to be Square,” but also visits songs such as “Bad is Bad,” “Oh! Darling,” “Some Kind of Wonderful” and many more. The band is fueled by a three-piece horn section and incredible background vocals and led by Mick Sterling. Heart & Soul is a joyous night of R&B, Blues and Doo-wop in the unmistakable way Huey Lewis & the News delivered their brand of American R&B.
