Group Sales Development Specialist


Reports To:

Associate Director of Sales


The Group Sales Development Specialist position is a full-time, permanent, exempt position.

Responsibilities include attracting & securing new groups to CDT via a combination of marketing and sales efforts. Work with Associate Director of Sales to determine potential new sales targets, develop and implement marketing plan, and aggressive sales follow up. Position requires time spent on trackable and measurable outgoing phone efforts, outside sales calls, and trade show exhibiting. Must continuously evaluate and suggest new ways to grow new group business, while supporting and maintaining current group relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creates a positive and effective work environment to stimulate sales & team growth
  • Works collectively with Associate Director of Sales to create effective sales strategies and efforts to increase overall group sales efforts, with a focus on gaining new groups and reestablishing old groups that have lapsed.
  • Cultivates lists obtained from CVBs / professional organizations
  • Assists Assoicate Director of Sales and Group Sales Specialists in the creation and development of group sales marketing pieces i.e. direct mail, email campaigns, etc.
  • Attends industry events as appropriate to stay current group tourism industry
  • Assists with in-bound phone sales capacity as required
  • Makes recommendations for improvement in the department
  • Availability to travel up to 30% of hours
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience.
